Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Oil for shallow frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chili, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round patties or cutlets.
- Spread the bread crumbs on a plate and coat each cutlet with the bread crumbs, ensuring an even coating on all sides.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the cutlets until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- Once done, remove the cutlets from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve the hot and crispy potato cutlets with mint chutney or tamarind chutney.
