Ingredients

  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups grated Gruyère cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and minced garlic over medium heat until it simmers. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle half of the grated Gruyère cheese over the potatoes.
  5. Pour half of the garlic-infused cream over the cheese and potatoes.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream.
  7. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let the Potato Gratin rest for 10 minutes before serving.
