Poulet Okra (chicken And Okra Stir-fry)
Poulet Okra, also known as Chicken and Okra Stir-Fry, is a popular dish in Cameroonian cuisine. This flavorful and nutritious stir-fry is made with tender chicken and fresh okra, seasoned with aromatic spices and herbs.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 lb fresh okra, trimmed and sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the sliced okra, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the okra is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve the Poulet Okra hot with steamed rice or fufu.
