Poulet Yassa (grilled Fish With Lemon And Herbs)
Poulet Yassa is a popular dish in Malian cuisine, typically made with grilled fish marinated in a tangy lemon and herb sauce. This flavorful and aromatic dish is perfect for a special occasion or a casual gathering with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 4 fish fillets (such as tilapia or sea bass)
- 4 lemons, juiced
- 4 onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the lemon juice, sliced onions, minced garlic, vegetable oil, Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the marinade.
- Place the fish fillets in the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover the bowl and let the fish marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the fish from the marinade and grill for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
- While the fish is grilling, pour the marinade into a saucepan and simmer for 10-15 minutes to create a flavorful sauce.
- Once the fish is done, transfer it to a serving platter and pour the warm sauce over the fish. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
