Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and raisins. Set aside.
  3. Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean, dry surface and brush it with melted butter. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets.
  4. Spoon the apple mixture along the long edge of the phyllo stack, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold the short edges over the filling and roll up the strudel.
  5. Transfer the strudel to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam side down. Brush the top with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the strudel is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let the strudel cool for 10 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
