Ingredients
- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 6 sheets phyllo dough
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and raisins. Set aside.
- Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean, dry surface and brush it with melted butter. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets.
- Spoon the apple mixture along the long edge of the phyllo stack, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold the short edges over the filling and roll up the strudel.
- Transfer the strudel to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam side down. Brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the strudel is golden brown and crispy.
- Let the strudel cool for 10 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
