Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, and 1/4 cup of milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the praline mixture into the prepared baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, cream 1/2 cup of softened butter with the granulated sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with 1/2 cup of milk. Spread the batter over the praline mixture in the pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving platter.
