Prawn Patio (प्रॉन पाठियो)
प्रॉन पाठियो (Prawn Patio) is a classic Parsi dish known for its sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. This dish is a perfect blend of Indian and Persian influences, making it a unique and delicious addition to any meal.
Ingredients
- 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup tamarind pulp
- 1/4 cup jaggery or brown sugar
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Now add the tomato puree, tamarind pulp, jaggery, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the prawns and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the prawns are cooked through.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
