Prawn Patio (प्रॉन पाठियो)

Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup tamarind pulp
  • 1/4 cup jaggery or brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  3. Now add the tomato puree, tamarind pulp, jaggery, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the prawns and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the prawns are cooked through.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
