Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 banana leaves, cut into squares

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the prawns with red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, onion, curry leaves, and salt. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Place a banana leaf square on a flat surface. Place a portion of the marinated prawns in the center of the leaf.
  3. Fold the banana leaf to form a packet and secure the edges with toothpicks.
  4. Heat a pan and place the banana leaf packets on it. Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes on each side.
  5. Once cooked, remove the toothpicks and serve the prawns in banana leaf hot with steamed rice.
