Prebranac (serbian Prebranac)

Ingredients
- 2 cans of white beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 cups of vegetable broth
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Stir in the paprika, black pepper, and salt, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add the drained and rinsed white beans to the pot and stir to combine with the onion and spice mixture.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Cover the pot and let the prebranac simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the beans are tender and the liquid has reduced, remove the pot from the heat.
- Prebranac can be served warm as a main dish or as a side dish with crusty bread.
