Ingredients

  • 2 cans of white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in the paprika, black pepper, and salt, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Add the drained and rinsed white beans to the pot and stir to combine with the onion and spice mixture.
  5. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Cover the pot and let the prebranac simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once the beans are tender and the liquid has reduced, remove the pot from the heat.
  8. Prebranac can be served warm as a main dish or as a side dish with crusty bread.
