Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the honey, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the pryaniki to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
