Puffed Rice Fritters (crispy Nargis Pakoda)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups puffed rice
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine puffed rice, gram flour, chopped onion, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and mix to form a thick batter. The batter should coat the puffed rice evenly.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until the fritters are golden and crispy.
  5. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the Puffed Rice Fritters hot with chutney or ketchup.
