Puffed Rice Lemon Rice (tangy Nargis Chitranna)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups puffed rice
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram)
  • 1 teaspoon chana dal (split chickpeas)
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add urad dal and chana dal. Sauté until they turn golden brown.
  2. Add green chilies and curry leaves. Sauté for a minute.
  3. Reduce the heat and add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
  4. Add the puffed rice and mix gently to coat the rice with the spices.
  5. Turn off the heat and add lemon juice. Mix well.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy the tangy and flavorful Puffed Rice Lemon Rice!
