Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 cups puffed rice (mudhi)
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 4-5 curry leaves
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add mutton pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the mutton is browned.
- Pour in the tomato puree, green chilies, and curry leaves. Cook until the oil separates.
- Add 2 cups of water, cover the pan, and let the mutton cook until tender.
- Once the mutton is cooked, add the puffed rice and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
