Pulske Fritule (pula Fritule)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 tbsp brandy
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the yogurt, citrus zest, and brandy. Mix well.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a thick batter forms.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  6. Remove the fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust the fritters with powdered sugar before serving.
