Ingredients
- 1 cup black glutinous rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 pandan leaf, tied in a knot
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup palm sugar
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Rinse the black glutinous rice under running water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, and pandan leaf. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the rice is soft and the liquid has thickened.
- Stir in the coconut milk, palm sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pandan leaf and discard. Serve the pulut hitam warm or chilled.
