Ingredients

  • 6 ears of purple corn, husked and kernels removed
  • 1 large pineapple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of lime juice
  • 8 cups of water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the purple corn kernels, pineapple, cinnamon stick, cloves, and water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  4. Strain the liquid into a pitcher and discard the solids.
  5. Stir in the sugar and lime juice until the sugar is dissolved.
  6. Refrigerate the chicha morada until it is chilled.
  7. Serve the chicha morada over ice and enjoy!
