Ingredients

  • 4 whole fish (such as mackerel or trout)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the fish and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Season the fish with salt and pepper, then brush the soy sauce mixture onto both sides of the fish.
  4. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
  5. Place the fish on the grill pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has a nice char.
