Qebapa (grilled Lamb Skewers)
Qebapa is a traditional dish from Kosovan cuisine, consisting of delicious grilled lamb skewers seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices. These flavorful skewers are a popular street food and are often served with pita bread, onions, and a side of ajvar, a roasted red pepper and eggplant spread.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a small sausage-like cylinder around a skewer.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Grill the qebapa skewers for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
