Qeema Sbanikh (iraqi Lamb And Spinach Curry)
Qeema Sbanikh is a traditional Iraqi dish that combines flavorful lamb with nutritious spinach in a fragrant curry. This hearty and comforting dish is perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 500g ground lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- 500g fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a large pan, brown the ground lamb over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft.
- Stir in the ground cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped spinach and water to the pan. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Uncover and cook for an additional 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the Qeema Sbanikh hot with rice or bread.
