Quick Dinner Rolls
These quick dinner rolls are perfect for a last-minute addition to any meal. They are soft, fluffy, and easy to make, making them a great addition to any dinner table.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add sugar, oil, salt, egg, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Cover and let the rolls rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter, if desired.
