Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and carefully add the eggs. Boil for 6 minutes for a slightly runny yolk or 7 minutes for a firmer yolk.
- While the eggs are boiling, prepare an ice bath in a bowl.
- Once the eggs are done, transfer them to the ice bath to stop the cooking process.
- In a separate pot, combine the soy sauce, mirin, water, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and then remove from heat.
- Peel the eggs and place them in the soy sauce mixture. Let them marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Serve the ramen eggs as a snack or as a topping for your favorite ramen bowl.
