Ingredients
- 2 cups raw tamarind pulp
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- A few curry leaves
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the raw tamarind pulp with water and let it soak for 10 minutes.
- Squeeze the tamarind pulp to extract the juice, then discard the pulp.
- Add salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder to the tamarind juice and mix well.
- Heat a small amount of oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Once the seeds start to splutter, pour this tempering over the tamarind mixture.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve the soup at room temperature.
