Refogado De Camarao Picante (spicy Shrimp Stir-fry)
Refogado de Camarao Picante, or Spicy Shrimp Stir-Fry, is a popular dish in East Timor cuisine, known for its bold flavors and vibrant spices. This dish is perfect for seafood lovers who enjoy a bit of heat in their meals.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 red chili, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, and red chili. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the bell pepper and continue to sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the pan and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turns pink.
- Stir in the paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro.
