Refogado De Porco Picante (spicy Pork Stir-fry)
Refogado de Porco Picante, or Spicy Pork Stir-Fry, is a popular dish in East Timor cuisine. This flavorful and spicy stir-fry is a perfect combination of tender pork, aromatic spices, and fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- 500g pork loin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 red chilies, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add the pork slices and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the pork from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok and sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the bell peppers and chilies, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Return the pork to the wok and add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
