Refresco de Chicha, a traditional Venezuelan beverage, is a refreshing and sweet drink made from fermented maize. It's a popular choice for cooling down on hot days and is often enjoyed at social gatherings and celebrations.
Ingredients
- 4 cups of cooked rice
- 4 cups of water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the cooked rice and water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any remaining rice solids.
- Stir in the sugar and vanilla extract until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Refrigerate the chicha for at least 2 hours to chill.
- Before serving, stir the chicha well and pour into glasses over ice. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top for garnish.
