Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the dried hibiscus flowers and sugar to the boiling water.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and let the hibiscus mixture steep for 1 hour.
  4. Strain the hibiscus mixture into a large bowl and discard the flowers.
  5. Add the fresh mint leaves and lime juice to the hibiscus liquid.
  6. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
  7. Once chilled, blend the hibiscus mixture with ice cubes in a blender until smooth.
  8. Pour the Bissap Slushie into glasses and garnish with mint leaves or lime slices.
