Rice And Lentil Dumplings (crispy Paniyaram)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup idli rice
  • 1/2 cup split black lentils (urad dal)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing and frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice, lentils, and fenugreek seeds in water for 4-5 hours.
  2. Drain the water and grind the mixture into a smooth batter. Add salt and mix well.
  3. Add the chopped onion, green chilies, and cilantro to the batter and mix until well combined.
  4. Heat the paniyaram pan and grease each mold with oil.
  5. Pour the batter into the molds and cook until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook the other side until crispy.
  6. Remove the dumplings from the pan and serve hot with chutney or sambar.
