Rice Flour Dumplings (pitha Puli)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery (or sugar for a sweeter taste)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the rice flour with water to form a smooth dough.
  2. In another bowl, mix the grated coconut, jaggery, and cardamom powder to make the filling.
  3. Take a small portion of the dough, flatten it, and place a spoonful of the filling in the center.
  4. Fold the edges to form a dumpling and seal it properly.
  5. Steam the dumplings in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once done, let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
