Rice Pancakes With Spicy Potatoes (dhuska Aloo Dum)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and diced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix rice flour, water, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt to make a smooth batter.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and asafoetida. Once the seeds crackle, add the diced potatoes and sauté for 5 minutes.
  3. Add red chili powder and salt to the potatoes and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan, pour a ladleful of the rice batter and spread it to make a pancake. Cook until crispy on both sides.
  5. Serve the rice pancakes with the spicy potatoes on the side.
