Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup split Bengal gram (chana dal), soaked for 2 hours
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Grind the soaked chana dal into a coarse paste.
  2. In a bowl, mix the rice flour, ground chana dal, chopped onion, green chilies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt. Add water as needed to make a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it into a round shape to make a pancake. Cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  5. Serve the rice pancakes hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
