Riz Crevettes (fried Rice With Shrimp)
Riz Crevettes, or Fried Rice with Shrimp, is a popular dish in Cameroonian cuisine. This flavorful and aromatic dish is a perfect combination of rice, shrimp, and a variety of vegetables and spices.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cooked rice
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of curry powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook until they turn pink and opaque.
- Stir in the diced bell pepper and mixed vegetables, and cook for a few minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Add the cooked rice to the pan, along with the soy sauce, curry powder, and paprika. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice is heated through and the flavors are well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
