Riz Sauce Tomate (cameroonian Style Fried Rice)
Riz Sauce Tomate, also known as Cameroonian Style Fried Rice, is a popular dish in Cameroonian cuisine. This flavorful and colorful dish is a perfect combination of rice, vegetables, and a delicious tomato-based sauce.
Ingredients
- 3 cups of long-grain white rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
- 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of curry powder
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Wash the rice and cook according to package instructions. Once cooked, set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the diced tomatoes, bell pepper, and mixed vegetables to the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the curry powder, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine the flavors.
- Add the cooked rice to the pan and gently fold it into the vegetable mixture until well combined.
- Cover the pan and let the rice and vegetables cook together for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the flavors have melded together, remove from heat and serve the Riz Sauce Tomate hot.
