Ingredients
- 1 whole goose, about 5-6 kg
- 500g chestnuts, peeled and chopped
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 100g butter
- 2-3 slices of bread, cubed
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, mix together the chopped chestnuts, onion, butter, bread cubes, beaten egg, salt, and pepper to make the stuffing.
- Stuff the goose with the chestnut stuffing, then truss the bird to hold the stuffing in place.
- Place the goose on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
- Let the goose rest for 15-20 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
