Roast Goose With Chestnut Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 1 whole goose, about 5-6 kg
  • 500g chestnuts, peeled and chopped
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 100g butter
  • 2-3 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the chopped chestnuts, onion, butter, bread cubes, beaten egg, salt, and pepper to make the stuffing.
  3. Stuff the goose with the chestnut stuffing, then truss the bird to hold the stuffing in place.
  4. Place the goose on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  5. Let the goose rest for 15-20 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
