Roasted Duck with Pancakes, also known as Peking Duck, is a classic dish in Filipino Chinese cuisine. This recipe combines succulent roasted duck with thin pancakes, along with a flavorful sauce and fresh scallions.
Ingredients
- 1 whole duck
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 8 thin pancakes
- 4 scallions, cut into strips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, five-spice powder, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Clean the duck and pat it dry. Brush the marinade all over the duck, inside and out.
- Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- While the duck is roasting, heat the pancakes according to the package instructions.
- Once the duck is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
- To serve, place a few pieces of duck and some scallions in a pancake, roll it up, and enjoy!
