Ingredients

  • 4 large red bell peppers
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler in your oven.
  2. Place the red bell peppers on a baking sheet and broil for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the skin is charred and blistered.
  3. Transfer the roasted peppers to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let them steam for 10 minutes.
  4. Peel off the charred skin, remove the seeds, and chop the peppers.
  5. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  6. Add the chopped roasted peppers, ground cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a food processor and pulse until smooth.
  8. Adjust seasoning if needed and transfer the spread to a serving bowl.
