Plăcintă cu Spanac şi Brânză is a traditional Romanian savory pie filled with spinach and cheese. It's a delicious and comforting dish that can be enjoyed as a snack or a main course.
Ingredients
- 500g fresh spinach, chopped
- 200g feta cheese, crumbled
- 200g ricotta cheese
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 500g phyllo pastry sheets
- 100g butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, mix together the chopped spinach, feta cheese, ricotta cheese, onion, eggs, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Layer half of the phyllo pastry sheets in a greased baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Spread the spinach and cheese mixture over the phyllo pastry.
- Layer the remaining phyllo pastry sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
