Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 200g butter
  • 200g sugar
  • 500g sweet cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the dough by mixing the flour and butter until crumbly, then add water and knead until smooth. Divide the dough in two.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the sweet cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until well combined.
  4. Roll out one half of the dough and place it in a greased pie dish. Pour the cheese mixture over the dough.
  5. Roll out the second half of the dough and place it over the cheese filling. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust to vent steam.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Allow the pie to cool before serving.
