Rooibos Glazed Ribs
Rooibos Glazed Ribs are a popular South African dish that combines the rich flavors of rooibos tea with tender, succulent ribs. This recipe is perfect for a weekend barbecue or a special family dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 racks of pork ribs
- 4 rooibos tea bags
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Place the ribs in a large roasting pan.
- In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the rooibos tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes, then discard the tea bags.
- Stir in the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper into the brewed rooibos tea to make the glaze.
- Brush the glaze over the ribs, covering them completely.
- Cover the roasting pan with foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for another 30 minutes, basting the ribs with the pan juices every 10 minutes.
- Once the ribs are tender and caramelized, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.
