Ingredients
- 1/2 cup short-grain rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon rosewater
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, and salt.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the pudding simmer gently for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the rosewater.
- Divide the pudding into serving dishes and sprinkle with ground cinnamon and slivered almonds, if desired.
- Chill the sütlaç in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
