Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup cream
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/2 tsp saffron strands
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with yogurt, turmeric, and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. In a blender, grind the cashew nuts and almonds with a little water to form a smooth paste.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  4. Add the garlic, ginger, and the marinated chicken. Cook until the chicken is browned.
  5. Stir in the cashew-almond paste, garam masala, coriander, and red chili powder. Cook for a few minutes.
  6. Pour in the cream and saffron strands. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan or rice.
