Royal Chicken Korma (murgh Shahi Korma)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts, ground into a paste
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add marinated chicken and cook until the yogurt is absorbed.
  5. Add cashew nut paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ground cardamom, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add water, cover, and cook until the chicken is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
