Royal Chicken Korma (murgh Shahi Korma)
Royal Chicken Korma, also known as Murgh Shahi Korma, is a classic dish from the Awadhi cuisine, known for its rich and creamy texture. This dish is a perfect blend of aromatic spices and tender chicken, making it a royal treat for your taste buds.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup cashew nuts, ground into a paste
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in yogurt for 30 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add marinated chicken and cook until the yogurt is absorbed.
- Add cashew nut paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ground cardamom, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add water, cover, and cook until the chicken is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
