Royal Hyderabadi Dum Ka Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 4 green chilies, slit
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 cup mint leaves, chopped
- 1/2 cup cashew nuts, ground into a paste
- 1/2 cup fried onions
- 1/2 cup ghee
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, lemon juice, half of the chopped coriander leaves, half of the mint leaves, and salt. Let it marinate for 2 hours.
- Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add the sliced onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and mix well. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
- Add the cashew nut paste and fried onions. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the remaining coriander and mint leaves on top. Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is tender and the flavors are well blended.
- Once done, serve the Royal Hyderabadi Dum Ka Chicken hot with naan or steamed rice.
