Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 4 lotus leaves
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 red chili, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup bamboo shoots, sliced
- 1/4 cup water chestnuts, sliced
- 1/4 cup bell pepper, sliced
Instructions
- Marinate the beef slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, white pepper, garlic, and green onions for 30 minutes.
- Soak the lotus leaves in water until they become soft, then blanch them in boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef until cooked, then add the mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and bell pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Place a portion of the beef mixture onto each lotus leaf, then fold the leaves to form parcels.
- Steam the lotus leaf parcels for 30-40 minutes until the beef is tender and flavorful.
- Serve the Royal Lotus Leaf Beef hot, unwrapping the lotus leaves at the table to release the aromatic steam and reveal the delicious contents.
