Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bread
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • Assorted nuts for garnish (almonds, pistachios, cashews)

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat the ghee and fry the bread slices until golden brown. Set aside.
  2. In the same pan, heat the milk with saffron strands and sugar until it thickens slightly.
  3. Place the fried bread slices in a serving dish and pour the saffron milk over them.
  4. Garnish with assorted nuts.
  5. For the sugar syrup, heat 1/2 cup of water with 1/2 cup of sugar until it forms a thick syrup. Drizzle over the prepared Royal Toast.
