Roz (rumbek Rice Pudding)
Roz, also known as Rumbek Rice Pudding, is a traditional South Sudanese dessert that is simple to make and incredibly delicious. This creamy and comforting rice pudding is flavored with cardamom and cinnamon, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the rice and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
- If using, stir in the raisins and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the rice pudding cool for a few minutes before serving.
