Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the beef stew meat over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the ground cumin, turmeric, and paprika, and cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the soup to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let the soup simmer for 1.5 hours.
  6. Add the sliced carrots, diced potatoes, and chopped celery to the pot, and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
