Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the onion and garlic, and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Gradually stir in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Stir in the sour cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the chicken and sauce hot over cooked rice or mashed potatoes.
