Ingredients

  • 4 cups rye bread, cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rye bread cubes and milk. Let it soak for 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together. Add in the melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Stir the egg mixture into the soaked rye bread and add the raisins. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
