Saag Paneer (creamy Spinach And Paneer)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped spinach
  • 200g paneer, cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp ghee or oil

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Stir in the turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for a few minutes before adding the chopped spinach.
  4. Cook the spinach until wilted, then add the paneer cubes and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
  6. Serve the Saag Paneer hot with naan or rice.
