Saharan Seafood Tagine is a traditional dish from Western Saharan Cuisine, known for its rich flavors and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, fish, calamari)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup green olives
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a tagine or large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, sliced bell pepper, and spices. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the mixed seafood, diced tomatoes, and green olives. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
